Stress in Perspective

Stress lies in the eyes of the beholder. We are all challenged by situations that may feel like the “end of the world” for you but, for another person that situation may not be at all stressful.

Take a step back to analyze your situations, challenges or obstacles from the right perspective -- you may conclude that your opinion and/or attitude or how you ‘handled’ the situation is what made you feel that stress.

Start now by introducing a method of positive auto-suggestion to train your mind and physical responses to allow yourself the opportunity to handle all situations, challenges and obstacles in a meaningful and relax state. This will allow you the opportunity to avoid the stress and rather focus on the lessons to be learnt.

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.

Meditate with Music

Meditate on music by being mindful of it, the way you would with breath. Listen to the sounds with full attention. When your mind wanders, return to the music. You may lose yourself in the sound so that you `disappear', which is actually deep meditation.

Redefining Your Priorities

Gandhi said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow." His words are a potent reminder that living life more fully is not about pushing ourselves harder or shouldering more burdens, but about experiencing all the wonderful richness life has to offer.

Try this simple exercise to introduce a new way of thinking — if today, was your last day on earth where would you shift your focus? Would you choose to spend more of your time and energy on what gives our lives meaning? Spending time with loved ones? Doing what we enjoy most in life?

Get back on track, stop the procrastination and give yourself permission to introduce a new way of thinking to do what truly matters to you – at your final breath how would you like to imagine yourself having a positive impact on the world.
