Self-Love defined: Loving yourself completely and unconditionally for who you are.
Self-love is not filling yourself from the outside in - by finding another person to fill full you, or by having material objects to satisfy you or by filling the void with food or drink. Self-love is filling yourself from the inside, by genuinely finding compassion and love for yourself, finding that love that nourishes you and your Soul - so, that you are self-sustained.
So, how can you begin practicing Self-Love in your life?
Everyday find time to do something for yourself - whether you give yourself a hug or find a few minutes of quiet time to reflect on yourself and your needs.
When a decision comes your way - ask yourself whether you are centered and in making a decision what is your highest and best interest - be true to yourself.
If you receive a compliment - graciously accept the compliment with gratitude and humility - enjoy the feeling of someone give you a positive affirmation about yourself.
One of the most effective Self-love exercises you can do is facing yourself in the mirror - look at yourself in the eyes and really "see yourself", then begin to tell yourself how much you "love yourself", how proud you are of yourself, keep finding positive words to tell yourself - you will begin to notice that your eyes being to sparkle and brighten. Enjoy the feeling and practice this daily!
There are many self-love exercises to experiment with, find those exercises that allow the love for yourself to grow! And, please let me know what exercises work for you, I would love to share them with others.
Enjoy and love yourself!
