Daily Meditation: Finding Time for You

Within in each of us there is a well of energy that must be regularly replensihed. On a daily basis we act as if this well is bottomless - with long lists of must-do's, activities that fill up every minute of the day. What happens when this well becomes depleted? We feel exhausted, disconnected and weak?

Refilling this well is simple - it's just a matter of finding time to focus on nurturing and caring for yourself - finding "you time"!

Try this simple relaxation technique to unwind and relax:
  1. Tense the shoulders by bringing them upwards towards the ears on the inhale.
  2. Then gently relax them away from the ears on the exhale.
  3. Try and create as much space between the ears and the shoulders.
  4. Mentally visualize the space opening up between the cervical vertebrae in the neck - opening and elongating.
  5. Repeat several times, on each exhalation try lengthen the breath each time.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ~ Buddha
